NepTrack ("we", "our", or "us") operates Nepal's GPS vehicle tracking and fleet management platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use our services, website, or mobile applications.
We are committed to data sovereignty — all data collected through NepTrack services is processed and stored within Nepal. No personal or vehicle data is routed through or stored on foreign servers.
Data We Collect
We collect the following types of information depending on how you use our services:
- Account information: Name, email address, phone number, and organisation name provided during registration.
- Vehicle and GPS data: Real-time and historical location, speed, heading, engine status, and trip records from GPS tracking devices installed in your vehicles.
- Driver data: Driver names, device assignments, and behaviour data (speed violations, geofence events) as configured by fleet operators.
- Usage data: Pages visited, features used, and actions taken within the NepTrack dashboard and mobile app.
- Device data: Device identifiers, IP addresses, browser type, and operating system for security and analytics purposes.
- Communication data: Messages and enquiries submitted through our contact forms or support channels.
How We Use Data
Data collected through NepTrack is used to:
- Provide, operate, and improve the NepTrack platform and its features.
- Deliver real-time GPS tracking, alerts, and fleet management functionality.
- Send system notifications, alerts, and service communications.
- Respond to support requests and enquiries.
- Comply with Nepal's Department of Transport Management (DoTM) reporting requirements for commercial fleet operators.
- Conduct anonymised analytics to improve platform performance and reliability.
We do not use your data for advertising purposes, and we do not sell or share personal data with third-party marketers.
Data Storage & Sovereignty
All NepTrack data — including GPS records, user accounts, trip history, and alert logs — is stored on servers physically located within Nepal. We do not transfer your data outside Nepal.
Vehicle GPS data is retained for up to 5 years per active account. Account data is retained for the duration of your subscription and up to 90 days after account closure, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
Data Sharing
NepTrack does not sell personal data. We may share data in the following limited circumstances:
- Within your organisation: Fleet operators, administrators, and users you authorise within your account can access vehicle and driver data.
- Government compliance: We may share vehicle tracking data with Nepal's DoTM or other regulatory authorities when required by law.
- Service providers: We work with Nepal-based infrastructure providers who process data solely to support our platform operations, under strict confidentiality agreements.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose data when required by court order or applicable Nepali law.
Your Rights
As a NepTrack user, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Export your vehicle trip and GPS history data.
- Object to or restrict certain types of data processing.
